This time of year spring storms bring storm and gale force winds and huge ocean waves toss salt spray into the air leaving seaweed on the beaches – be sure to collect some for your garden! Community events invite us to set our novels aside, leave our firesides and participate in the zoning bylaw review, fundraisers, delicious meals, nature walks, wonderful music and entertainment – I love our island!

 

There were 19 MLS sales on Cortes in 2014 plus 4 private sales. 2015 saw a total of 18 MLS sales and good interest throughout the entire year! In 2016 there were a total of 21 MLS sales plus some private sales. After many years of very high inventory we are seeing a reduction in the number of listings and Buyer interest is very strong in these early months of 2017.

 

As always new listings will come onto the market in the upcoming months – be sure to check the listings page often!

 

The market is changing on Cortes – there are fewer listings than in recent years and we are starting to see multiple offers on some homes and properties. There’s nearly a shortage of homes in the $250,000 - $400,000 price range!
